The clubs conquered last year by Aino & Miihkali are back! Four increasingly thrilling experiences await, along with a colorful array of artist guests. The clubs are organized in collaboration with the city of Karkkila, with support also received from the Musiikin edistämiskeskus.

Aino & Miihkali duo consists of kantele player Aino Ruotanen and guitarist/banjoist Miihkali Jaatinen. Each club promises unparalleled string instrument sounds and the duo’s innovative arrangements of songs by guest artists.

“Last year, we played everything from pop to alternative rock, rap, soul, and schlager with our lineup. With a diverse selection, we continue onwards,” promises Aino.

The development of the clubs has been ongoing in collaboration with the city of Karkkila.

“For events without age restrictions, there seems to be space in Karkkila, so we’re implementing all of this year’s clubs without age limits. The performance date and time are family-friendly, on Sundays at 4 PM, and we’ve added a selection of cheaper tickets for children. We want to create events where children and young people can become part of the cultural community,” Miihkali explains.

The goal of collaboration with the city of Karkkila is not only to increase the city’s visibility but also to strengthen the availability of various art forms and collaboration between actors.

“The clubs add a great addition to the diverse field of our music events. It’s important that events are organized in Karkkila that children and young people can participate in, and that participation is possible for the whole family together,” rejoices Mayor Juha Jokitalo.

Karkkila has many great event venues. This year, Aino & Miihkali clubs start on Sunday, June 16th, at Liimamäki, which is a legendary dance pavilion in the beautiful lakeside scenery of Pyhäjärvi. Stig will be a guest at the club. For the club held as part of Karkkila’s Rautapäivät, there is free transportation from the market square via the TOPI train.

In August, the atmosphere of Puutarha Sundström will be enjoyed on August 11th together with Mikko Perkoila. September kicks off with contemporary dance, as dance artists Laura and Saku Koistinen are guests on September 1st. The club series concludes on November 3rd at Karkkila Hall, featuring Kyösti Mäkimattila as a guest.
