Fagerkulla Folk Festival 2025

This year Fagerkulla Folk Festival comes to life for the first time in the historic setting of the Karkkila-Högfors Workers’ Museum on Saturday, August 30th, 2025.
Performances will take place from 1 PM onwards on the museum’s atmospheric outdoor stage as well as in intimate concerts held in the old bakery known as Pakari.

The event brings together folk music enthusiasts and esteemed professionals, with the program focusing on local and regional folk music groups. Featured performers in 2025 include the acclaimed composer and keyboard virtuoso Timo Alakotila and the pioneering violinist Kreeta-Maria Kentala performing as a duo. The enchanting string duo Aino & Miihkali will be joined by none other than Paleface, bringing a new twist to Finnish-American working-class songs.

The festival day culminates in a shared “Karkkilan Katrilli” – a communal dance and music performance open to everyone, whether you want to play, dance or just listen. Festival artistic and executive director Aino Ruotanen has composed an all-new Karkkila-themed quadrille, which will receive its world premiere at the event.

🚌 A festival bus will run from Helsinki – and when purchasing tickets, you can suggest bus stop locations along the way.
The festival is organized by the Fagerkulla Folk working group in collaboration with Einbus Oy, with support from the City of Karkkila.

🎻 At Fagerkulla Folk, music meets the industrial heritage of Karkkila – the museum’s time-travel experience with historic worker homes, courtyards and ironworks history forms a unique setting for the festival.

The event invites people of all ages to enjoy, experience, dance, and reflect – surrounded by folk music in a one-of-a-kind environment.

Welcome to Fagerkulla Folk!
