Naoko/Ainois a Japanese–Finnish duo where voice and kantele meet. Japanese singer Naoko Oshima visits Finland in the summer of 2026 to perform together with kantele player Aino Ruotanen. The duo’s repertoire guides the listener through the landscapes of Japanese and Finnish traditional music, enriched by their shared love for the music of Studio Ghibli films.
Naoko and Aino first met in 2016, when Aino was performing in Japan. That encounter sparked a friendship and musical connection that has endured for over a decade, crossing borders and distances. Now the roles are reversed: ten years later, Naoko arrives in Finland, and Naoko/Aino brings to the stage music that is delicate, curious, and deeply rooted in cultural dialogue.
